Dimitris Bertsimas

Dimitris Bertsimas is currently the Vice Provost of Open Learning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Boeing Professor of Operations Research and the Associate Dean of Business Analytics at the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He has received a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece in 1985, a MS in Operations Research at MIT in 1987, and a Ph.D in Applied Mathematics and Operations Research at MIT in 1988.

He has co-founded ten analytics companies over the years. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering since 2005, and he has received numerous research awards, most recently the James R. Killian, Jr. Faculty Achievement Award, MIT in 2025, the highest award MIT bestows to one of its faculty.

Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer for Hartford HealthCare


Dr. Ajay Kumar is a nationally recognized physician executive with over three decades of healthcare leadership, known for improving the quality and safety of healthcare delivery for all. As EVP and Chief Clinical Officer at Hartford HealthCare, he oversees system-wide strategy across clinical outcomes, medical informatics, physician services, clinical research, academic affairs, and healthcare delivery optimization. He previously led Hartford Hospital’s Department of Medicine and held key roles at the Cleveland Clinic before earning his MBA from MIT. A champion of hospital medicine and safety, he has organized major conferences on innovation, blood management, and clinical excellence.

Dr. Barry Stein is an experienced physician executive and innovation leader focused on advancing personalized patient care with AI. He serves as Chief Clinical Innovation Officer and Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Hartford HealthCare, where he also leads HHC’s Center for AI Innovation in Healthcare and practices as a Vascular and Interventional Radiologist. With an Executive MBA from MIT Sloan, he actively collaborates with academia and startups, including co-founding H2O. His career spans leadership in imaging, informatics, and clinical transformation, grounded in training at Harvard Medical School and global recognition in cardiovascular imaging.

Dr. Elias Samaras is a visionary entrepreneur and technologist recognized for his leadership in digital security, imaging technologies, and machine learning innovation. He is the Chairman of DigiTrust, an incubator advancing AI-driven innovation, and of TG Printing, a leader in national identification and travel document solutions. As the Founder of Thermo Digital Technologies and Digital Security Technologies S.A., he developed the groundbreaking “Photodig” technology, used for over 25 years by the U.S. Department of State in producing U.S. passports. Dr. Samaras continues to drive advancements in secure digital identification and intelligent systems.

Per Krokstäde is a seasoned board professional and business developer with a long career across multinational companies, startups and scale ups. He has led international teams around the world with an inclusive and results-focused approach. He has extensive leadership experience in establishing teams that require new ways of working, transformation or expansion into new markets. In addition to serving on the H2O board, he holds board and director positions in various companies in the USA, Africa and Europe, while managing a Family Office and serving on the board of the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, Sweden.
